DOT Physicals

DOT Physicals and Drug Testing

IMS provides DOT physicals and re-certs for companies and private patients.

A standard DOT physical includes a doctor examination, BMI testing, sleep apnea testing, vision and hearing testing, a UA dipstick, and a 5-panel drug screen.

No appointment is required, however to reduce wait times, we always recommend scheduling an appointment.

IMS can also manage your companies DOT random drug and alcohol selection process. Our proven and tested process ensures compliance with DOT drug testing requirements, and saves you the headache of creating your own selection process and staying up to date with complicated DOT regulations.

We provide post accident and reasonable suspicion testing as well. Our MRO is in house, allowing us to report violations directly to Clearinghouse.

More About DOT Regulations

The US Department of Transportation has their own set of polices that organizations must adhere to in order to keep a healthy workforce and avoid penalties.

Drivers must complete a DOT physical and companies must comply with the DOT’s random drug and alcohol testing policy. For 2024, FMCSA drug testing rates are 50% and alcohol testing rates are 10%. Therefore, an employer with 100 safety-sensitive employees would have to ensure that 50 or more random drug tests and 10 or more random alcohol tests were conducted during the calendar year (US Department of Transportation).
